Ordinary moments - Beach times

Ok if your a regular follower of my blog you may have noticed I love to go to the beach! I love the feel of sand between my toes and the smell of the sea (and even seaweed). I love nothing better than a sunny day and not having to rush anywhere, so when I saw we had good weather I couldnt wait for school to finish to pick up my son and head down to the beach.

We are so blessed to live a few minutes walk to our local beach. My sister joined us with her two boys
and of they were swimming whilst a cross Ami stood at the shoreline cross because she could not play with her brother and cousins.

Me and Ami went and played on the sand and finally the boys joined us and we dug holes and they played games (mainly involving wrestling). Then I get a call from my husband who finished work and decided to bring a BBQ down to the beach.

We had dinner and waited for the sun to go down on one of our last summer beach evenings. It was unexpected and unplanned but its nights like this we will remember and cant wait to do it again.

  1. Such a lovely moment. We live very close to the beach too and i love the fact that we dont need to plan a big day out and we can just go hang out and play for a while.

  2. What a lovely way to spend the afternoon, then finishing with a BBQ on the beach! This sounds like my kind of day, I can see the children had a great time and as you say, we have to make the most of the last of the warm weather. Thanks for linking up and sharing your beach fun with Country Kids.

  5. I love the beach too, I think it's because I grew up inland and we only got to visit the sea once or twice a year. It's lovely now to live a few minutes away from one. I know we don't go as often as we should given how close we live, so you've inspired me to take a bbq or picnic down to ours one day soon if the sun decides to make an appearance again. x
