Bank Holiday Adventures - Swalecliff

We have had a busy weekend what with me working and it being Easter. I do love Easter though is probs one of my favourite times of the year. I love everything that Easter means to me as a Christian. I love the nitty gritty Jesus Dying on a cross to the resurrection and new life that Easter Sunday brings. It gets me every time.

We managed to finally get a day off all together for the first time in weeks. We spent the morning chilling out at home not really doing much so we had to get out in the afternoon. Ami loves her bike at the moment so off we set to a large outdoor skatepark not too far from us in Swalecliff. I had never been before so didn't really know what to expect.

It was rather windy still but nothing compared to the 60mph that had battered the area the night before. Ami and Asti enjoyed scootering around going up and down the little ramos. I had to go round with Son Son as he is still very new to his balance bike and couldn't get up the ramps.

We also popped to the stoney beach too to throw rocks into the sea. My hubby had brought along the steady cam to get some more practice in but it was far too windy. some of the local teens were mocking him for it too.  Thankfully it didn't rain whilst we were out and it blew some of the cobwebs away. I love these little days out we have as a five, it seems to be very much we are all split up doing different things. Its so rare to be a family of five lately. It makes it so special when we are together.

Heres some more pictures from today. Also check out the stormy sea at the end I thought we were going to get soaked.

Yes I do have the balance bike skills......

Cold Winter Walks - Broadstairs

I love that the evenings are getting lighter, it means we can stay out later and enjoy more of the day. We decided to get out the house and go for a walk mainly to get our family photo but also to grab a ice cream. It was most properly the coldest day of the year or so it felt so we didn't actually stay out for too long.

We went for a walk along the prom and the kids the noticed that some people were surfing. So there we are finding 20 pence coins so they could all see the people in the water. Ami was desperate to go on the beach but it was far too cold.

We followed the walk to the best Ice cream parlour in the world. I personally have always loved Morellis in Broadstairs we used to go there as children and it still is the only place we get ice cream in Broaststairs. I got a hot chocolate which was devine and all the kids and the hubby got ice cream. It was a nice little walk and the kids enjoyed the fresh air and ice cream. I love my Sundays of with the family, it was my last one for a few weeks.

See below some more photos of the day

Winter Beach Walks

Theres one thing I can not stand on sunny days is being stuck in even worse on super Sunday. Any football widow will understand that one, football match after football match enough to pull your eyes out. So me and Ami were set to go to the park when who wants to join us little Son Son. So off we all set for a walk to the park sadly our nearest one is a good 20 minutes away. Asti refused to wear a coat or hat saying it wasn't cold at only 2 degrees. I on the other hand was freezing and secretly wanted to go home and sit under a blanket with a cup of tea.

We didn't make it to the park in the end but stopped off at a little beach on the way, I used to come to this beach occasionally as a child. My mum would stack up the old maclarren and off we set. Son Son gave up walking not far in to our walk he was too cold and a little bit tired.

I usually work most Sunday's so the idea of just doing something as a family can be rather rare. Even Asti enjoyed it after giving much protest about going out. He recently brought some Heeleys, if you are not sure what they are they are trainers with wheels on. Sadly he hasn't got the hang and keeps on falling over. Very funny at times but not the most practical for the beach.

After a while we couldn't feel our feet and Son Son fell in a rock pool it was time to walk home. He was so cold he had had enough which there wasn't much protest too except from Ami who wanted to go back home.

Just a post about a little walk, I really wanted to share the photos. I do love taking photos but my children don't agree they all hate the camera.

Here's some more photos from our chilly little walk. Sometimes it's the little things like that we look back on and love. The little walks but more importantly the time spent together (not watching football).

We've joined up to some linkys this week some new ones and some olds ones.

Winter Beach Walks - Gorleston Beach

Every Winter when we head up to my husbands parents we usually head to Southward for a day trip out. Something to blow the cob webs and break that indent from the sofa where we have eaten too much and can not be bothered to move. This year we broke the trend and headed somewhere different. It was a lovely sunny day but it had a brisk chilly wind. We walked along the prom and the kids wanted to see the big waves.

All the family came along there was 21 in total which when you stop anywhere for a bite to eat they instantly freeze. We went to one place where it took over an hour to get a drink it was crazy then they ran out of plates, which was funny because we were the only ones in there.

Even though it was freezing the kids loved it, hanging out with their cousins and just being outside. All the boys had a big game of football which made Asti's day. It looked a lovely beach for the summer maybe will have to venture back sometime. Although we are spoilt where we live for beaches anyway.

Even though it was cold and windy the kids did love it and it got them out. Its crazy how little exercise we did over the Christmas Break. I suppose everyone is a bit like that also the weather has been pants hardly makes you motivated to get out. Made a nice change to go somewhere different other than Southwold.

Heres some more photos we took that day, nice to see the sunshine for a bit too.
