Sharing the Joy - January

I plan to share more things that I am so happy about, not because I want to boast or shove it in peoples face but more that when I read back in a few years that I can see how blessed I am. That when I look back I can see that raising my children was the best job in the world. that when my children read they can see and remember the journeys and blessings however small that they had. So here is the first, I aim to be more weekly but you know me I am so sporadic so I will aim for monthly at the moment!

Illness

Sometimes people hate being Ill but for me I fell ill on my work days. One day I worked 13 hours with a drippy nose then the next I only made half the day before getting sent home. I got to spend half the day in bed watching Netflix was a little bit great, The total dream. I also got the chance to pick my little ones up from nursery which is something I never get to do. They were so so pleased to see me too.

Date night

YES believe it or not I went out for dinner with my husband. We had a total laugh and he made me spill my drink. Its hard to get out together when your boring parents, not complaining I love evenings in with him. We sometimes sit on our laptops or watch a TV series sharing stories of what the kids have been up to. We went of to prezzo which my lot friend Frances gifted us.

Son son Talks

I always said to people one thing to do is to not encourage your child to talk, before you punch me and say that is totally wrong listen right, I had two children that could talk very well and believe me when my third came along it has been refreshing to not have him speak at me asking me six thousand question. Well now he is finally saying alot more it is very very cute, the other day he said "me a big boy". Still remains very much the baby how ever much he protests that he is not.

Work

I have finally started to enjoy work, its taken its time but I love it for the time being. Nursing can be very hard work at times and where I work is always busy but I can't see me doing anything else at the moment. People have been saying what good job I have been doing lately which always helps. There is so much pressure all the time and so much responsibility but is sometimes a lot more easier than being at home with the kids.

SO here is a small list of stuff I am grateful for, plan to do one for the kids. Watch this space or don't if you know what I am like...

Finding the Joy #3

I did intend this to be some kind of weekly thing but sadly I sometimes just do not have the time. I take on too many review posts and they sometimes need to be done by deadlines so when I have a evening I finish those first and then am too drained for my own posts (ramblings).  Also getting home from work in the evenings its often the last thing I can muster. We are blessed though my kids have received some great things this year and love it when the post man turns up with packages. A part of me wonders if they are a little bit spoilt by this but we generally only buy them Clothes and that is never exciting for a child. See I have rambled as my fingers have been itching to just type, I love writing you see one of the reasons why I started this little blog in the first place. I missed typing when I left university, which sounds mental but it was true. So with that I started my blog 2 and a half years ago. So let me kick of before I completely go of topic.

1) Dyslexic Brain - I am going to bring that love of writing into number one, mainly because I am dyslexic and one thing I have found since writing my blog that actually my spelling and even grammar to some degree has improved. I uses full stops instead of exclamation points! If you go back to the start of the blog you may find that actually the level has improved. I still make mistakes but I am getting better, I didn't used to notice the mistakes but I sometimes do now.

2) Wedding Anniversary - Yesterday marked 5 years of being married, time sure has flown. I am so blessed by my husband every single day. The fact that he gets up every time during the night with a toddler then gets up at 6am with them. That I can go to work all day and know he is looking after the kids and they are having a great time. Its not just that he has always made me laugh so much. He still does ok he does wind me up and pretend to throw spiders on me when he has put it in a glass to take outside, but I love that man so much. I do not always treat him the best but I couldn't be with out him. Sorry if that sounds a bit corny but thats us.

3) Sunny Days - I am such a massive lover of the sun. I do not even have to be outside in it for it to make me feel happy.  I sat outside on my lunch break yesterday and it felt beautiful I know its limited. I know that in a matter of weeks/ days we will be wearing coats and the weather will change dramatically. Roll on more sunny days, more walks to school in a t shirt its been wonderful.

4) Little Trips - This week I decided to take Ami and Son Son on the bus to Canterbury which is about a 40 minute trip. I tried this a few months back and it was awful they wanted to run around on the bus I said I would never go again. To my surprise they were so well behaved they sat on the chairs and looked out the windows it was a good day. We went to a little maze in Canterbury and they allowed me to look round some of the shops, it was a great to do something like this sad as it sounds but I haven't been shopping in a long time. Going for baby chinos and just browsing in stores I did enjoy it a lot, so did the toddlers it was a good day.

5) Evenings on the Coast - You may have noticed that we like to take a family photographs on the blog, I say we its more me and only me. As always it gets to the end of the month and we haven't taken any photos so this month we walked across the road and down the stairs to the prom. The beach where we live is not the most glorious but the kids were over joyed. It was such treat to go out after dinner with Mummy and Daddy. Ami took her bike and Asti his scooter and they went up and down the prom. I hope its these evenings they remember, I know I cherished it. We weren't out too long but I looked at my family and realised how lucky I am. How much I love my little tribe. These years are so short, so quick. I love being spontaneous it sure does make my heart happy.

So here we are a little round up of the things that have made me happy recently.

We took these photos at the end of our road. We live on the road at the top of the stairs in the photo. After we took the photo and walked home there was the most beautiful sunset in the back ground if only we waited a little bit. Maybe we could aim for that next month as the Autumn sunsets here in the East Kent coast are really stunning. Its such a beautiful in a neglected past time way, there is lots of gardens and fences that edge right up into the cliffs its such mystery. I would love to find out a bit of history as it has always fascinated me.

So another month down of this fast paced year.
Time is well and truly speeding past my children are growing up too fast.
Life is so sweet.

Finding the Joy #2

I wrote a post a few weeks bak about taking more time to look into the good in our lives. Since then I have been majorly busy so it will have to be the little things. The little things that have made me smile or even cry that have filled me with such joy. You see it has taken me some tim to adjust to being a working mum/ mum / blogger. It seems there is always one of these tat is lacking I am still trying to get a good balance.

A Bottle Of Lucazade

As a nurse you can have good shifts and bad shifts. This one day I was rushed of my feet all day and busy beyond belief. Bed managers were pilling on the pressure and things were not going to plan. I text my husband about dropping in a drink. He calls me to say here is a bottle of lucazade, me in my selfish ways says I don't want it, I don't like it. Next thing half hour later  after getting all the kids from nursery he drops it off anyway. I was so happy, that even though I mugged him off he still came to help. I did not drink my drink I was too busy and forgot about it.

Parenting For Nine Years.

My eldest turned nine last week which is completely crazy. These last few years have just flown I am still suck with having a 4 year old pre schooler now he is in year 4 and acting like a right old teenager. I still remember the day he was born, the fear I felt. The realisation that this was my life, I would never be alone again. Suddenly the 17 year old girl that I was, was suddenly replaced by a grown up. It was a sobering day. My Asti though has helped so much, he was the reason I wanted to do something with my life. I started university to break the culture and stereotype of being a young mum. He was the motivation behind who I am now. That little baby with colic that didn't stop crying. That as he got older would sleep in till past 9am every day. To the boy he is now, such a handsome cleaver chap. I am beyond blessed to be his mum. I love him to bits. 9 though argh deffo not ready for 10!

Laser Tag Victories

If you haven't played laser tag I really encourage you, we have one in our town and it is such good fun. I really love it, me and 9 other ladies all went for an hours session. It was such a laugh hiding and shooting people running around like a wally. I cut my hand open but it was totally worth it. The hour just flew and we must have burnt tons of calories. We then went for cake after which totally made it worth while. Sometimes its these things, a few hours away from the kids that mean a lot. The two hours I was away was the only break I have had in a long while. Do not get me wrong I love the kids but I love a break too. I love being able to talk with friends without having them subjected to being hit with cushions, which I think is the reason why nobody ever comes round. I was thankful to my husband who had them for the morning even after being stay at home dad the two previous days when I was at work.

So that is it for now short and sweet for the time being. Another week flown by, I am sick of writing that but its so true. Life is pretty darn good I am more than blessed.

Our Eurocamp Adventure - La Croix Du Vieux Pont Adventure - Part 3

Here is our final instalment from our recent Eurocamp Holiday if you missed Part 1 and Part 2 don't forget to check them out. For the post I shall be wrtiting about what you can expect from Eurocamp and what is available on site. One thing we loved was the freedom of being able to do what you want, the vast array of choice in the different parks is enough to suite any family no matter what they are into.

There were so many holidays to choose from with Eurocamp from many destinations from all over Eurocamp and it was very hard to decide where to stay. Thankfully on the Eurocamp website they have a section where it showcases the best Eurocamp Toddler Friendly parks. The park we stayed in was a toddler paradise park meaning you had the benefit of a holiday where the little ones were involved too. With it being a toddler paradise you have the chance to hire a rumble truck, we managed to get one and it was amazing. The toddlers loved being carted around like royalty waving at all passers by.

That was one thing we looked for when choosing a holiday was the kids clubs that were available, we were unsure how the kids would cope and it was always a back up. There is a vast amount of clubs you can chose from when staying at Eurocamp, at La Croix Du Vieux pont, there was a range of clubs. You could have lessons for your toddler to learn to swim or even learn to ride a bike. Then along side that there were morning clubs and afternoon clubs both catered for toddlers and pre schoolers. There they have activities such as sensory play, messy play and music and games, the afternoon's are all about little advenutures with buddy bear. Its a lot of fun and you can take the toddlers along and have fun with them. Then for the older children there are lots of activities to be had. One of the best ones being a make your own pizza evening. They run a range of different sessions including sports and other activities. We couldn't get Asti to go along though as hard as we tried. Next time defiantly he deffo missed out it looked so much fun.

If your children like mine (well just Asti) arnt really club children then there still is so much to do round the park. Where we stayed we had so much actitives to do. Any thing your child is into was most probably covered. These included football, mini golf, fishing, laser tag, soft play, boating, quad bikes, inflatables, table tennis and tons of out side play parks. We didn't get round to doing it all and the great thing as some of these activities are covered you can still have a great time even if the weather isn't that great.

The thing we enjoyed the most as a family was definitely the swimming pool! We went there everyday and wa soften there all afternoon. The freedom to be able to sit on a sun lounger whilst your little ones go up and down the slides is great. My eldest Asti was not of the flumes and the toddlers just loved exploring. As the pools are covered they made great shade on the days when the weather was hot. The outside pool was welcoming on really hot days and to be next to the bar was bliss. Not that we drank but a Ice cold slush went down a treat with the kids. We also enjoyed the little man made beach, obviously being beach lovers the children were right at home.

Another great thing about Eurocamp park is the freedom of self catering, ok some people may not enjoy coming away and cooking but we loved that we had a gad BBQ and could sit out on the deckings most nights. There was a bakery and little supermarket so when you were short of items it was nice to nip along and get the essentials. Also buying fresh bread and cakes was a great breakfast every morning. There is also the option at most parks to eat out too. The park we stayed at had two restaurants and a take away service. We didn't eat in the restaurants but did have pizza and sat outside the take away shop. Along with the restaurants there were also two bars that between them hosted different evening events. Which included variety of discos and even a Frozen movie night. We missed the beginning which the kids were a bit miffed about. There was also laser tag and bowling that you could do until 10pm.

There really is something to cater for everyone, we loved our holiday and the kids keep on asking if we will go back. The fact that it is only 2 and a half hours from Callais is a bonus for us. We defiantly will be going back.

Check out our little video we made below, kinds of sums up all the fun we had whilst we were there.

Bring back the Summer

I find winter very tough, with little children more so. All I want to do is go outside and thankfully the kids share this love, but sadly the logistics of this is very different. We head I everyone is in a good mood until the toddler slips in a puddle. Wet slime all down her side she is not happy, this causes a chain reaction, the baby gets cross because he is stuck in theouchair and Asti is with his pre teen attitude "I knew we should have stayed inside". I then feel stressed and try not to turn round and say ok you want tone stuck indoors all day fine, I don't i say it's good to get fresh air. When secretly inside I a hating it my fingers are so numb from the cold. We head home I feel defeated and like a bad mum.

I am a summer person I hate all this wrapping up warm. I look ill where I have had no sun, my eyes are grey from being indoors all the time, my sun glasses are lost somewhere in hey toy box. See in the summer you can spend eh day outside if the weather is right. It doesn't take three years with he millions of coats and gloves that you have spent a fortune on over the year. I really can not wait for summer.

Since we have move we have not even ventured into the garden sadly it's always so windy and cold. The babies claw at the windows wondering what is that outside and why is there leftover fireworks in the garden and burnt out sparklers. My days off can be spent sorting things outside and playing till tea time. Eating outside and having many picnics I really can not wait. My husband moms about moving abroad I am so up for it, somewhere where it is warm all year would suit me fine.i am not a lover of windy weather and the snow it even worse.

There is also he cycle to work, I leave so wrapped up and as I got to the end of the road I am already hating the cycle, my fingers frozen on to the handle. My face bitterly cold, trying to avoid the massive puddles and even worse the cars that soak y in the puddles. Least in the summer the mornings are light I am not arriving at work in the dark and leaving in the dark.

I love where we live we have lots of lovely beaches which are beautiful any time of year, we really blessed. The summer lifts the haze I get into in the winter, counting the months down now, waiting, longing for summer.

Me and You - July

When I was younger I told my mum I wanted to marry and Italian so he could cook me spaghetti Bolognese. Funny that when I met my husband he told me that was his best dish, sadly I am still yet to try it!

I love the time we spend together,
knowing
how hard it is to achieve this I cherish every minute with my husband.
We laugh, we have fun, we just act like its me and him.
Its great and we don't do it enough.

My 1st Blog Birthday!

Wow today it suddenly hit me, Ive been blogging for a year. When I started I never knew how addictive it could be and I never knew that there would be so many other mothers willing to offer advice and support when feeling a bit rubbish.

This time last year I was a mother of two, I didnt know I was about to fall pregnant and become a mum again. It has been an exciting year, We have been to Disneyland, spring harvest, Camping and Denmark. We have spent plenty of days at the beach and changed plenty of nappies.

I have loved writing these moments down, and have found people actually read my ramblings, that little old dyslexic me with my dodgy writing would actually get views to my blog. Ive learnt about HTML (well still learning) and after many nights sat watching youtube videos and reading blogs Ive worked out how to get these on my page.

Thanks for reading, Thanks for all your coments I have loved them all :)

Heres some highlights of the last year ..

If you really want to get me a present why not vote for me in the MADS as best baby blog ;)

Reasons to be Cheerful: week 26

After a few weeks of being busy it has been nice to live on a slower pace before school starts again. I cant believe how quick the holidays have gone makes me sad as soon the shops will start displaying Christmas Items and the summer fun will be a memory! Our reasons to be cheerful are as follows:

1) My husband is back from Ibiza, he went out there to film a promo for 24-7 prayer and has had many a late night! His age is catching up with him he is no longer the young clubber he thought he was!! the children were so happy to see him Ami kept on saying da da for ages! he has a few days of before going back to work will be nice to have a little family time!!

2) Ive done the dreaded school shop, glad I waited till last minute as my sons feet have grown over the summer! Clarks was horrid and noisy my idea to get there early and beat everyone else didnt work!! I just cant believe my son is going into year 2 its very scary!!

3) With having weeks of freedom being able to walk around parks exploring Ami is now a proper adventurer including at the beach yesterday climbing up the stairs and leaving the beach making her way on her own! Some ladies were impressed with her walking and climbing around I just thought I cant sit still on the sand!

4) Have a few weeks of before I start work (then go on Maternity leave again) very scary but very exciting! have no idea what to do with childcare etc but im sure that will be sorted in no time!!

Weddings and Golf Club captain

So im absolutly shattered im supposed to be doing the online shop but I couldn’t concentrate on ordering the right stuff! Ill end up with loads of cake and biscuits (bit like when my husband does the food shop). This weekend has been very busy with both Saturday and Sunday mapped out with back to back stuff! The best bit was my husband wasn’t playing football so we spent the whole weekend together (a rarity). He was also filming the wedding we went to so was apart for a little!

Saturday started with a women’s collective Community Action event! As a group we have three areas we base our event by they are the church’s values they are worship, community and generosity. We as a group were going out to our local community to clean up some areas that have been neglected! Not a huge turnout but glad some people came!  It was rainy and windy so maybe it put some people of! I then completely forgot pants had a partyL! He hardly gets invited to parties so im actually gutted he didn’t go!  So then we had to go to off to Sidcup for the wedding! A quick half hour to pack an overnight bag and sort Amis food/milk! Very stressful! All laden with cameras, tripods, toys, bottles! It was a lovely wedding although im sorry I didn’t capture any picture s of the happy couple im very rubbish at that when we go to weddings! Or a family shot another thing that doesn’t happen! It was lovely hanging with friends my husband loves to dance so with him on the dance floor Pants in the games room it was just me and Ami in the evening! I didn’t mind she fell asleep on me (I love it when she does that)!

Sunday equally as busy we went to a church in Sidcup call New Generation that is hosted in cineworld in Bexlyheath, was really good they spoke about being a princess and being released into this and casting of lies that we had about ourselves!  Pants and Ami went off to the kids clubs so me and Matt were sitting on our own! SO a quick dash home to my stepdads golf club where he had a drive in! No I didn’t know what that was either! It is basically where he tees off! My mum had given a joke ball which exploded when he hit it! Was very funny! So we had a lovely meal! The kids played outside! (I got told of by health and safety officer for taking Aston on the course, apparently it’s against the law, we could have been killed etc.) Oh dear! But now sitting down watching a film hoping Ami doesn’t get up at 6 again in the morning! Good times!

I love to hear from you so please comment! And if you If you like this blog then don't forget to subscribe to my blog so you never miss an update. .......}
