PJ Masks Twitter Party

PJ Masks Twitter Party

I don't know if you took part but last week we were part of the PJ Masks Twitter party? Well we were very privileged to be sent a box full of activities and toys for the children to try. I am not going to lie it was a lot of fun. The Twitter party had lots of comepetitions and little games to play too. My little ones got to play pass the parcel, make a PJ mask and so much more.

The party was in aid of the new PJ Mask toys that were realsed last month, they include a variety of role play, plastic adventure sets and cuddle plush toys. The range is colourful and exciting and more is going to be added later on through the year its rather exciting.

Ami was sent the wonderful Owlette costume too which she loves. Omelette you may be wondering who I am talking about but Owlette is one of the three superhero's that make the PJ mask team. The Costume is avalible to but and the RRP is £24.99

Make a PJ Mask

Our first task was to make a PJ mask we were given all the equipment to take part and colourful ribbon to attach it together. My children love arts and crafts so this was right up there street. Son Son went with Cat Boy as did Asti. Ami obviously went with Owlette, I made a Geeko mask so they didn't feel too left out.

Match the Item with the Character Game

Our next game was match the character with items. We had a bag full of superhero qualities and the children had to guess which quality went with which superhero's. It was a lot of fun and required the children to work together as a team. Especially as Asti was the only one who could read of the sheets.
The plush teddies involved in the game retail in the shops at £8.99 each.

Colouring Activity

It was then time for a bit of peace and quiet whilst the children sat and colour some PJ Masks pictures. They all did a fantastic job and it gave me a chance to sit and have five mins to make a cuppa whilst sorting the next few activities.

Cake Competition

We added this to our party and the children had great joy decorating PJ masks cakes. All in all as you can see below the clear winner was Asti in the middle photo and his fab PJ Mask's cakes.

Pass the Parcel

Who doesn't love a bit of Pass the Parcel especially on a school night. They had a lot of fun the three of them taking it in turns (sometimes crying when it was someone else turn). There was plenty of layers and the toys inside included the new PJ mask's Figures.

Free Play with the PJ Masks

Our last activity was to try out the new range of PJ mask Vehicles all contain one character and they all can fit in each others cars too. The toys are bright and true to the TV show too. The figures can be moved to sit down and provide the chance for children to use there imagination whilst playing.  Son Son's Favourite was Cat boy as you can see from the photos he was rather fond of it and did not let his siblings play with it at first. Son Son had been watching it on the TV as he knew all the characters names and even the bad guys we were all surprised.

We were sent three sets of the cars and characters which retail at £12.99 each. They are great fun for any PJ Mask fan!

We had a great party with PJ masks Even my eldest Asti who is 10 got his award for being a good boy during the event. Be sure to check out the full range available in toy shops now.  We were also sent some Blind bags which were in the goody bags and the children loved them. Son Son especially as he got 3 Catboys!!

Be sure to check out UKMums.tv for more PJ Masks information, activity ideas and downloads.

Sharing the Joy March

I have been finding life hard lately I am not going to lie. Some days I feel like I can climb mountains and others I am stuck right at the bottom of the valley. It has been a bit rubbish but each day is a new day and actually on the grand scheme of things I am rather blessed. So with that I thought I would write my little positive post sharing the things we are grateful for. The little blessings in my life that I can read back on one day and think wow we were blessed.

Sunny Days

I really love the sunshine and ok its been shining when I have been at work and stuck inside a hot hospital but it makes everyone feel happy. The few days I have been off and it has been sunny its been lovely to play out in the garden. Also heading into work and its light is not as painful when you start work at 7am. It makes me excited for the spring and getting out the house without twenty layers on.

Two Year Checks

My little Son Son had his two year check this week. Which now they do at the nursery which I was dreading but actually went really well. Son Son is coming along well and he was really relaxed to be with his key worker. With Son Son being my youngest its kind of like the end of an era with all the health visitor business.

New Work

My husband has recently got some local work which looks like it could be fruitful. Being a video producer it can be a bit hit and miss. the fact that its local means no long commutes to London. He is a very talented man he deserves all the breaks he gets.

Days out with the family

This will always be my favourite thing to do, we have been swimming and to the beach but we are a busy family and days together as a five are very rare. I think this is what makes it so so special. My husband is away alot of the next few weeks so hopefully we can hang out sometime soon.

So here is just a few things that bring me joy. I actually found it hard but the more I write about it the easier it becomes. I have so many draft posts where I have started a post and gave up. Hopefully I can get back into a better flow of writing soon.

Finding the Joy #3

I did intend this to be some kind of weekly thing but sadly I sometimes just do not have the time. I take on too many review posts and they sometimes need to be done by deadlines so when I have a evening I finish those first and then am too drained for my own posts (ramblings).  Also getting home from work in the evenings its often the last thing I can muster. We are blessed though my kids have received some great things this year and love it when the post man turns up with packages. A part of me wonders if they are a little bit spoilt by this but we generally only buy them Clothes and that is never exciting for a child. See I have rambled as my fingers have been itching to just type, I love writing you see one of the reasons why I started this little blog in the first place. I missed typing when I left university, which sounds mental but it was true. So with that I started my blog 2 and a half years ago. So let me kick of before I completely go of topic.

1) Dyslexic Brain - I am going to bring that love of writing into number one, mainly because I am dyslexic and one thing I have found since writing my blog that actually my spelling and even grammar to some degree has improved. I uses full stops instead of exclamation points! If you go back to the start of the blog you may find that actually the level has improved. I still make mistakes but I am getting better, I didn't used to notice the mistakes but I sometimes do now.

2) Wedding Anniversary - Yesterday marked 5 years of being married, time sure has flown. I am so blessed by my husband every single day. The fact that he gets up every time during the night with a toddler then gets up at 6am with them. That I can go to work all day and know he is looking after the kids and they are having a great time. Its not just that he has always made me laugh so much. He still does ok he does wind me up and pretend to throw spiders on me when he has put it in a glass to take outside, but I love that man so much. I do not always treat him the best but I couldn't be with out him. Sorry if that sounds a bit corny but thats us.

3) Sunny Days - I am such a massive lover of the sun. I do not even have to be outside in it for it to make me feel happy.  I sat outside on my lunch break yesterday and it felt beautiful I know its limited. I know that in a matter of weeks/ days we will be wearing coats and the weather will change dramatically. Roll on more sunny days, more walks to school in a t shirt its been wonderful.

4) Little Trips - This week I decided to take Ami and Son Son on the bus to Canterbury which is about a 40 minute trip. I tried this a few months back and it was awful they wanted to run around on the bus I said I would never go again. To my surprise they were so well behaved they sat on the chairs and looked out the windows it was a good day. We went to a little maze in Canterbury and they allowed me to look round some of the shops, it was a great to do something like this sad as it sounds but I haven't been shopping in a long time. Going for baby chinos and just browsing in stores I did enjoy it a lot, so did the toddlers it was a good day.

5) Evenings on the Coast - You may have noticed that we like to take a family photographs on the blog, I say we its more me and only me. As always it gets to the end of the month and we haven't taken any photos so this month we walked across the road and down the stairs to the prom. The beach where we live is not the most glorious but the kids were over joyed. It was such treat to go out after dinner with Mummy and Daddy. Ami took her bike and Asti his scooter and they went up and down the prom. I hope its these evenings they remember, I know I cherished it. We weren't out too long but I looked at my family and realised how lucky I am. How much I love my little tribe. These years are so short, so quick. I love being spontaneous it sure does make my heart happy.

So here we are a little round up of the things that have made me happy recently.

Finding Joy # 1

Its so easy to get wrapped up in life and forget the little things that make you happy. When I started blogging I used to take part in a little linky that was all about celebrating the things that made you happy and I loved it. It is so easy to forget what does make you happy, so from now on until I give up (highly likely I am such a flaker). I am going to post every Thurday about what makes me happy. A little list that makes me realise how grateful and how ruddy blessed I actually am.

Three Days home with the Kids

When I stated back at work I never really had many days off together I worked a pattern of one of one on, now I work in blocks meaning I have days of in blocks which I love. I love being able to spend a few days not feeling exhausted from work and not even thinking about work. I can be with my little children and do proper things with them, nothings rushed, nothings forced. My husband has been away this week which I secretly enjoy. The kids come into force and really look after each other and me.

Great Friends and Community Group

I dont mention it enough on the blog the fact that I am a Christian but I am, I go to a lively church and we absolutely love it. Which is why I was glad that our little small groups within the church have started back up. This may sound strange but actually hanging out with some other adults we had a wine and cheese night is rather fun. It means I get well behind on blogging and other things but my community group is such a laugh. I became a parent at such a young age I kind of missed this stuff its good that now again I can relive this stuff. I am not a lover of cheese but I do like the banter. Way hey.

Sunny Days

I will always love Sunny days, always. The fact is it is always sunny when I am at work. Not this week I have actually sat out in the garden and done some work its been bliss. Summer is by far the best time of the year for me, its a time of late nights and long days but I love it. I need to get down to watch a sunset before its too chilly, Autmn sunsets are just as beautiful but not like the summer when you can sit on the prom with a chilled cider.

Iron On Labels

Ok I have brought some of these from eBay this year for my son who has just gone into year 4! WHAT all those years I wasted sewing these take 20 seconds and done! I feel like I've wasted all that time. Ive orderd some more for Ami and Son Son for nursery.

Change and Happy Kids

This new school year brings my eldest into year 4 and my only girl into Pre school. Asti is happy with his new teacher but in his words "Hates" his new teacher assistant, funny story he said he never smiles and today at school she pulled his name out of the hat for a challenge and it was see who could smile for the longest. Asti said he was so embraced as she lost straight away, I thought it was hilarious. Ami has moved up into pre school, its not nursery anymore. I just want to be a fly on the wall to see what she gets up too. How she plays with her friends. Its always a strange feeling. Pre school in a years time actual school, that is scary.

So here we are a little list if things I am thankful for this week. Why not write your own you would be surprised at the little things.

A Mothers love - Your never too old for a cuddle

Recently I have been looking at my children in a new way. Dont get me wrong I have always loved but them but recently it has really hit home how special they are. I don't know maybe getting caught up with three children took its hold a bit? I am not sure but tonight my eldest asked me to tuck him into bed. He is nearly nine and sometimes is far to cool for this, but as I did so and kissed him on his head I realise dI hadn't kissed him for a long time. I tell him I love him but when did I last kiss him. When did this slip, why does it seem uncomfortable to hug him? I don't want that.

I want him to hug me again like he did when he was a toddler. Was it having more children that let this slip. I really didn't mean it to stop, I really didn't. It makes me sad and really made me think I need to make much more of an effort. So when he asked me to tuck him I kissed him lots and lots. I thought he would push me away but no he loved it. His smile was so wide. You see for nearly nine he is my little boy.

My little boy who may act so old but he will always be my boy. My boy that brings me so much joy. My boy who makes me so so proud. My boy who may be a bot of a handful at times but I know he will do well in life. He is so unique so special. I don't want to miss out on this, I don't want him to grow up thinking he can't cuddle his mum. You see thats how my parents were, I do not remember cuddling them and I don't want that for mine.

My boy is growing up and needs to be investing in, I really hope I don't fail him. We are trying our hardest with him, trying to keep him involved, not getting stuck in toddler mayhem.

Its such a special time this raising kids. Although we don't feel it its such an massive privilege to be a parent. I always remind myself that I am more than blessed with my little children.

Happy Fathers Day

I know for some people this can be a hard day, you may have lost a parent or never really had one in the first time. I know as a single parent I always stuggled on Fathers day. It wasn't till I met my husband now I realised how much honour is given where it is due.

So here is some things from the kids that I have heard them say recently, because I could sing his praises all day long. I may not always tell him how much I appreciate him taking good care of the kids when I work long days, that I know I don't have to think about them and just focus on work is such a relief. That I see how much you love your children and how much is returned and I am overwhelmed with happiness. As I said before getting lost in my confusing train of thought here is some things from the little monkeys.

Son Son is a boy of little words but the other morning when he come in our bedroom he noticed that Daddy is wasn't there so he said "Matt gone" which to him is the first time stringing two words together (yes he also refuses to say daddy if you ask him too he will try to give you a quick hit.

Ami well my hubs is her favourite by far and always is. She said "Daddy is my favourite, well also Noah" Or she will say how much she loves him and that he is the best. Funny thing my husband always wanted a girl, someone who could be his princess and who would love him a lot back. There is always a fight between Ami and Son Son when Daddy gets home from work over who gets to cuddle him first, they want all off him to themselves it is very funny to see.

We were so blessed when Asti met Matt  and kind of broke the ice between us and started what was to come. Matt has been the best Step Dad to Asti, especially when Asti's Dad is often not on the scene only every now and then. Asti had to say " Thanks for teaching me football and always making me laugh with your crazy dancing". His dancing is hilarious he made up this crazy squirrel dance but sadly would not let me film it.

He does amazing and shows all three children the same love, there are no favourites and all three know that they are loved. They know that they are loved no matter what they do, they are loved when they make a mess, they are loved when they have a tantrum in the street, they are so loved.

So Happy Fathers Day all you Dads, Grandad's, stepdads and all those who are like Dads, you do amazing jobs in your own special ways!

Reasons To be Cheerful #2

So I need a bit of joy today, need to remember whats going good in our little lives because lots is and I do not take much note of it. I love to look at lives positives focusing on the rubbish gets you nowhere so here is this weeks reasons to be happy.

1 - My husband has had lots of work, this has been good that he is busy. He is very talented at what he does so its great seeing some of the jobs he is working on. He recently has been making a short film that will be showed at our church I can not wait to see it finished, being his wife I often have to watch it alot to see the changes. Me and the kids are all in it as Extras so will share it when its done.

2 - Although today I had a shocking parents evening they said he was very bright, also that he was top in Maths and Reading. I feel like I finally got somewhere with the school and hope they continue to communicate with me to help Asti at school.

3- I have a week of Annual leave coming up soon where we are of to spring Harvest. Will be nice to get away with the husband and kids. We are both volunteering but it should be fun all the same. We can go swimming, go to the fun fare and all the fun things you can do at mine head.

4 - Life is not feeling as crazy at the moment, I have felt like I was in the fast lane lately. This week especially has been a bit slower in pace, and with the warmer weather we have had for like two days it has made me happy. I also worked my first nightshift in a long time and managed to stay awake.

5 - I am slowly trying to do more in the days with the toddlers, they both love crafts and I am slowly getting more daring. I may never be a proper craft/ sensory play mum but I am trying. I find it a bit stressful but they love it.

So this is my few reasons to be cheerful, there is so many more but this is enough for now.

Me and Mine February

I love taking our me and mine photo each month, I am always so pleased with the outcome. This month I was thinking all month where we could have our photo taken and time was running out. Both me and my husband have been busy with work and finding a time for the 5 of us was becoming a fine task. So last night my husband was running late and we were locked out so we went to our local green and waited. Poor Little Bear was having none of it he was so cold, if you look closely his little fingers were red. We got there in the last few glimpses of light.

Daddy is loving:

- his new lens with a bit of zoom "I didn't need to use the prime lens at all"
- playing football
- Spending longer in bed
- lots of work this month

Mummy is loving:

- Sunny warm days
- days of with the family
- nights in with the hubby

Pants is loving:

-YouTube Minecraft videos (very boring they are)
- playing lego batman with mummy
- football and wrecking lots of shoes
- having his bedroom back

Ami is loving:

- soft play arieals (areas)
- all about the base song!
- frozen bear shop (build a bear)

Little bear is loving:

- Nursery and all his little friends
- Following Ami around and cuddling her at any chance
- playing out in the garden in the mud
- cuddles with mummy and daddy

My little family are growing, each day the little ones are changing. Pants seems like a teenager, we have a rhythm of life and its good. I look forward to reducing my hours at work and being home more. I hate missing out on things so hopefully this will help me be less scatty. My husband has alot of work on lately which is good but also means we see less of him, were not too fond of that.

I love our photos this month and not too bad for a last minute shot, we've done the shelters before but they are good place to contain us all. My favourite one is this last one Ami is copying Pants its so sweet, I did not notice it at the time. So here is us this month, we have a photo with all five of us looking at the camera and we got outside to take the photos. I love my little family they sure are awesome.

Reasons to be Cheerful #1

This is one area of my life that maybe I have let go a little, I have forgotten to look to the little blessings in my life that make it what it is. Its been a while I have become so busy with work and life I need to reflect and look at how great my life actually is so here is my list for this week.

1- Work have finally reduced my hours from 30 hours to 22, it wont happen straight away but the idea that it will sometime soon it music to my ears. I am constantly on catch up and going from one thing to the next so will be nice to have more time at home.

2- The warmer days. I am a big lover of the sunshine and now its getting a little warmer and lighter in the evenings. we sat out in the garden and it was so warm and fresh, we have lots of daffodils and other little flowers starting to bud. I look forward to many days out in the garden.

3- I have a week of annual leave next week, even though it was allocated it is still payed time off so who is complaining! I have no plans and the babies are in nursery one of those days so lets see what I get up to.

4- We are currently planning our family holiday, it will be lovely planning some family time away, I really can not wait.

So this is my list for now, small and brief. I am Thankful for the small things in my life. The small people are rather awesome too.

Life is Crazy but good

This photo sums up our life at the moment.

Its crazy but its good.

Some weeks I feel like Im chasing everything or that I am behind on what I should be doing, other weeks there is no place I would rather be.

I love being busy, I love doing nothing I am never happy in the middle. I am all over the place and scatty but that is me, I am like that in real life and especially on this blog (sorry to my readers). I sat there with a blank screen and my fingers itched to type. My brain links things up in weird ways often a ramble but I like a good ramble.

I digress life is good, where I am now I never thought I would get or even used to think I deserved. Married, 3 kids steady job but I am here. I am blessed with an amazingly patient husband who puts up with me and 3 children who tolerate me (jokes course they love me). Life is good we have enough most months and have been blessed alot through our Church community.

Ok life is not perfect were not the brady bunch and we do not always get on. I may hoover up lego and loom bands  and miss out on important school dates. My hubby may forget where he put something and we may have peppa pig on far too much but they are small in comparison. My family are my life and they are rather awesome.

Sometimes we just need to stop and look and say actually I have it rather good. I could be somewhere full off poverty, in a area rife with Ebola and my little issues are nothing. I sure am Blessed and I continue to count these little blessings.

PS: Sorry if your reading this and it may feel disjointed my dyslexic brain just works like this.

Happy Birthday 1st Little Bear

A whole year we have had the privilege of having you in ours lives. A whole year we have been a family of five. A whole year of being stretched and pulled in so many ways. A whole year of our hearts growing even more full of love for our little family.

Born at 3:14am on a Sunday after a two hour labour, my first water birth. I found that to be a little scary but worth while to have you in my arms. You were born alert and  so knowing already.

At ten days old you were admitted into hospital with bronchiolitis and had to have a NG tube in. Mummy could not feed you or hold you for two days. It was hard to be stuck in a room for 5 days with only a few visits. My husband could not ever come for long as Ami was only 15months she did not understand she just wanted to play in the room with all the toys. Whilst you were in hospital you smiled your first smile at 2 weeks old I will never forget it. Thankfully you got alot better and we could finally go home.

1 month - A month of being a mum of three, you hated being nude and liked to wear clothes. You were bashed alot by a older sister but she loved you all the same. You slept all over the place and often would always be attached to mummy.

2 months - You started to sleep a little longer still not great but having you older sister a year before she slept through very young it was hard not to compare.

3 months - You and Daddy used to chat away you thought he was the funniest person ever. You loved to he held and cried when people put you down. You like to stand up and found your hands moving away from that little newborn baby.

4 months  - You learned to sit up I think you found it safer to watch Ami. You never liked lying on the floor always liked to be upright. you started to take a bottler at last but still fed all day long.

5 months - You started to take a dummy at last hurrah! Now you liked to be sat up all the time and would cry anytime you were laid on the floor. You went swimming for the first time and loved it.

6 months -  you loved to be in the nude and are very happy. You love food and enjoy feeding yourself. You finally slept through this month huzzah! 6 months in is how we coped with 3 children.

7 months - This month you finally learnt to roll and were nearly there crawling. You loved to stand and thought it was the funniest thing ever, You did not like the beach and would cry all the time but loved to be on the grass. You loved to be around people and hated to be indoors.

8 months -  You learned to crawl backwards in which made you very frustrated, but then you got it and then could go forwards. You learned to pull yourself up and found it the funniest thing ever.

9 months - This month you became really clingy and would cry at strangers. You would cry if you saw someone eating. You learned to love the beach and spending days outside.

10 months - an exciting month you learned to walk and wen ton your first holiday. You finally liked the water and enjoyed a bit of swimming. You started nursery this month and loved to follow Ami everywhere.

11 months - Another exciting month we moved house and you finaly got your own room. You are alot more happier since moving and love to climb any thing. You have learned so much here is a little list dancing, clapping, running, climbing, hiding, following and loads more its been fun.

You really have been a blessing and I can not believe this year has flown by. You have the sweetest nature and love cuddles this year has been awesome. Thanks for being our little Ray of sunshine.

The diary of the last week 09th - 15th November

I decided to write a little diary of the week, just as a little reflection of our week. Now the weather is pulling in we do not tend to have as many adventures, with that here is our little stories that make one massive awesomeness!

Sunday 9th November

Today we went along to our church the kids enjoyed their little clubs and then went to tescos where they messed up our click and collect order so had to go through the till anyway good fun, got £10 of our shopping. The boys went home to watch Arsenal and me and Ami went to her friends frozen party. My poor friend Leanne had booked a Elsa who seemed to hate children it was hilarious I started shouting out "cheer up Elsa it might never happen!" my other friend told me off as I might make her cry.

Monday 10th November

We had our little community group at our house where myself and some mums meet and support each other how in what ways we can. There was 4 mums and 8 tots under 3 good fun, Ami and her friend disappeared into the kitchen where we found them in the kitchen eating ceareal was very funny, We walked to school along the coast and saw a lovely rainbow then came home same old really.

Tuesday 11th November

I was on a long day where I did training for venna puncture and cannulation that was fun, being away from the family not so much. I decided to cycle all the way home in the rain actually enjoyed it till the seat broke and had to sit at a slant cycling!

Wednesday 12th November

Little Bear had his 12 month check at the local sure start centre, everything was fine and he is coming on well. Ami was not impressed as I told her there would be toys and there were none as we were in a little room! oops! Thankfully after we went to the soft play centre nearby where who should turn up as a surprise.. Daddy hurray! I think we were all pleased and he had taken the rest of the day of to help me out with after school clubs and all the jazz of our busy Wednesdays. We have not spent much time together lately so it was lovely.

Thursday 13th November
Another Long day for me leaving for work on a dodgy bike. Had a text to say Little bear was poorly and I just wanted to go home but still had millions of hours left till hometime. He did perk up and before I knew it 13 hours flew by and I was cycling home. Also on my way home fell of my bike and grazed my leg, some local youths witnessed and shouted do it again! I just picked my shopping up that had fallen out the basket on my bike and cycled home quickly shame intact (not)

Friday 14th November

Dressed the little ones in pudsey gear to join in with Children in need as forgot about it for Pants school, thankfully he did not have a fancy dress day. We had a chilled out morning then decided to go to my eldest sons school church service which was eventful. Ami spent the whole time before excited as she was going to a different church then spent ages waiting to see Pants, when she finally saw him she shouted out "thats my brother" and he replied "Dont embarrass me!" good sport he is! She saw her cousin who gave her a high five. We then had to leave the church as Ami was shouting "I dont like this church" and Little bear had a bad cough so we popped into the babies nursery to buy some cakes for Children in need. We got Pants from school and went home they wanted to play lego and it got everywhere! Still finding it now Little bear who is 1 on Monday took great joy in throwing it all over the floor! Then babies did not stop crying so they went to bed early and me and Pants watched Children in Need, Pants found it sad and cried a few times.

Saturday 15th November

The babies got up at 6 and as much as my poor eyes needed more sleep I was forced up. Ami went of to wake Pants who did not realise I was awake and took her downstairs so I could sleep a bit longer, he even closed my door the sweetie. He then (a bit later) had a football match where his team won 14 nil. He also got man of the match and played well. We then went to another party and Pants went of with his grandad as he find toddler parties rather dull. We waited for Daddy to come home from being away with work and had a family Chinese.

Siblings - November

Many people who know me will know how much I love Lego. Lego gripped my heart as a child and is still firmly there. As a child I would spend hours building usually houses and play with all my mini figures. So when I see my children playing with lego it makes me so happy. Thankfully I kept alot of my Lego so I could pass it down. I was wondering what to do for this months Siblings photo when I came in and found them all playing lego even Little bear who is nearly 1.

Although poor Pants everything he built got smashed down. There was alot of arguments but they hardly do anything all three of them.
