My Graduation- Got there at last!

6 years ago I decided that I wanted to start a career, I wanted better for me and my son and wanted to be a positive role model when he grew up. I never knew then my 3 year nursing course would in fact take me 6 years. I never knew then that I would finish the course married and with 3 children.

I remember when I first started university I was out of my depth on the academic work also unsure what being a nurse was. But I was chucked in at the deep end it took alit of determination to carry on. Although it took me a while to get into the swing of things after a while I realised that actually I loved it.

The hours at first was too much so went part time for a few years used to love doing a few days and spending the rest of the time with Pants. The plan to go full time when Pants started school, but that didn’t happen as fell pregnant with Ami. I could finish the course but leave out four weeks of placement in which I would complete the next year.

After all those years of studying, all those years stuck reading articles and writing essays, all those years of starting early and finishing early. I am so pleased I finished the course. I could have given up many times but I didn’t. So last week as I walked into Canterbury Cathedral wearing my gown and hat, I was pleased that this is what I had achieved. I didn’t write my self of and made it.
