Finding joy in the small things! - Becoming a mum to my Awesome boy!

When I was a teenager my dreams where that I wanted to work in London in an office, go out on Fridays and Saturdays then meet the love of my life. How different could my life be from my childhood dreams. My life was changed when I was 17, I was changed and for the better by my little baby. I never expected to become a mum so early in life, as a teenager I was a bit lost in reality and suffered with low self esteem.

I thought filling my life with things would fill this empty hole, having a boyfriend would fill it but my esteem was low who would date me, I met Pants dad when I was 15 immature and not knowing of the world. I then a year later fell pregnant. I was pleased even though it wasnt planned I thought this may fill this huge hole in my life.

Then a few months later my life was turned upside down, suddenly I was responsible for this little life, suddenly I was a mum! It was the scariest time of my life, I never would be alone again, How will I go out with out this little boy. It was only then I decided I wanted better for me and my son, I didnt want to be on benefits like other young mums so I decided to look into getting a career.

See you may not think its possible, but my little Pants changed my life, he gave me direction and purpose in life, he helped me strive to be a better person and get me out of the life that I was in. I am incredibly blessed to have Pants even though life wasnt how I planned it has been awesome.

Sadly it didn't last with Pants dad and I spent a few years as a single mum so It was just me and Pants. We joined a church and were not judged for who we were and treated as if we were normal. I wasnt a teen mum but I was me, I found Jesus and was Sara who is loved. Suddenly that hard exterior started to come down, I had friends and was part of an awesome family who looked out for us two.

Also life didn't stop there a few years later when Pants was three he played the vital part of helping me meet Matt, The love of my life and we were introduced by my awesome Son. I never knew it then when Pants was talking to a random man that he would be interested in me. Little broken me, little slowly understanding the love and grace given to me by Jesus. That such humble man would like me and love me. It was all thanks to Pants.

Im not saying having a baby young is a great idea, no its not but god makes all things good. He turned mine and Pants life out of a rut and turned it into something special. We are now a family of 5 and if you asked me 5 years ago what my life would be like now I would tell you you are mad!

Aston you are amazing and mummy loves you so so much!

Ordinary moments - Daddy and Ami Love

The love between a Dad and a daughter can be so special. I remember when we found out we were having a girl my husband was so happy. He wanted a girl so much, a little princess he can spoil. Ami loves her daddy alot and cries every morning when he goes to work and when he gets back from work she waits by the door when she can hear him coming up the path. She gives him a huge hug and its been the same since she could crawl to the door. I write this as this morning Ami wakes up and my husband brings her into bed with him and was giving her a cuddle and she fell asleep on him. It was so cute and something Ami never ever does my husband was so chuffed I thought I just had to share it. It was just so lovely. A simple moment one that could be easily forgotten as they grow up and you forget what they were like as a baby.

It makes my heart melt to see them together, they have such a lovely bond it will be interesting to see how this changes with new baby or will it flourish more. Its funny my son is the same would much rather be with my husband playing football or playing a game than me. I am not offended I actually like it, it takes some pressure off me after I have been with the kids all day.

Ive linked this to some awesome linkys that are going on so check out Ordinary moments over at Mummy and Daddy and Me and magic moments At the Olivers Madhouse.

Our Wedding Day

Welcome to an insight to our wedding day We had met the previous year doing a community Event Lark in the Park in Ramsgate Our eyes met over putting Marquees down and I thought how handsome is that man he must surely be married with his dark features and silver hair. But he wasn't we took details and he didnt hesitate to get in touch

He was (and still is) such a lovely person I used to think it was a joke some day someone is going to say you've been fooled, I was a single mum and couldn't believe that someone like Matt would be interested in me! After 5 months of dating he asked me to marry him read more about it here We planned to get married 7 months later

Both of us are not very organised so a few of my friends created a team to help us plan our day we didnt have alot of money so It was great to get help from communities around us. People were so generous to help in what way they could it was such a blessing People cooked, took photos, lent us vehicles, did decorations, flower arranged, baked cup cakes, preformed in a live band and much more we were so so blessed!

Matt had said the wrong words, Will you take Sara to be your wife and he said Yes lol
The day arrived and I was so excited, I was not crying like I thought I might (as I cry alot) Had a lovely morning with Pants and two of my bridesmaids where we started to get ready, We had had some dodgy spray-tans done so was trying to get rid of some of the tan lines lol Then my mum and dad arrived and it was time to leave! It had started to rain but I didnt care I was marrying the man of my dreams!

I heard the music I was walking down the isle too, Brooke Fraiser: Love is Waiting My heart was pounding Hundreds of people were sitting in the church where we got married  Matt was from Sidcup me from Thanet two churches joined together to celebrate with us  was a little overwhelming but exciting at the same time

I walked down towards my husband to be and his face was a picture he had tears streaming and such love in his eyes I stood next to him looking so handsome I was so happy Kids where running around everywhere including Pants who was covered in chocolate but I didnt notice I was marrying my Matty.

We had about 380 people at our wedding some invited some not, we tried to invite everyone as didnt want people to feel left out! Someone said that they kept on going into the kitchen to find more and more food appearing everyone was feed and watered. Then the speeches were lovely my husband wrote some lovely words and the best men were incredibly funny.

It was crazy I think I spent the time talking to people as there was so many everyone wanted to say congratulations the day sped by. Our first dance was to Elbow and Beautiful Day. Then we had a live band followed by disco, which was good fun!

Soon it was time to leave and start our life together
we were so blessed that day
Im still blessed to have met such an awesome man
I love him to bits

Becoming a big brother!

When we found out we were having Ami a huge surprise but i couldn't keep it a secret from Pants! bit of a mistake 35 weeks is a long time to wait, a long time to keep on being asked are you looking forward to being a big brother! he was disappointed that we were having a girl but pleased all the same! But finally the time came and Ami arrived! Pants was excited but did not expect Ami to do nothing! babies are very boring but we made the most of the time whilst she was small playing the ps3 as poor pants was in the school holidays, but least to say yes we have completed lego batman 2! great achievement for our summer holidays!

We expected Pants to be a bit jealous of the attention she got or people always asking about Ami but he was such a superstar! he never complained (well sometimes if i asked him to get me nappies etc) but he even wanted to change nappies! As Ami has gotten bigger he is by far one of her favorite people he used to be the only one she would laugh at! now she just follows him around trying to play with what he is playing with! much to Pants annoyance he just picks he up and sits her elsewhere! you can see how much he loves having a sister someone to play with some days! It is lovely to see him play with his sister he is such a good big brother!

magic moments- History museum

My Magic moment today is a day out i had with Pants! Pants was about four and i has some time of work and he wasnt at nursery so i decided lets get on the train and go to London! It was April time and my husband was away at spring harvest so we just went! We decided to go to the national History museum as Pants wanted to see the dinosaurs!

So of we go we live very close to the train station so after a hour and a half on the train entertaining a hyperactive four year old we reach London! My dream as a teenager was to work in London (how sad) only because i read loads of romance novels and apparently thats where you fnd the love of your life! how funny! Anyway we started of gong into some kind of butterfly house! where they kept on landing on us Pants was trying to catch them so we quickly left before getting told of! As you can see from the photo below he wasnt to sure of the butterflies!
Pants was really excited to see the Dinosaurs after an hour and a half queuing to get in the museum we now had to Que to see the dinosaurs  Pants didnt mind he had be very well behaved beforehand so another half an hour later we finally get in there! And to Pants disappointment they were all dead! I dont know what he was expecting! maybe he thought dinosaurs still existed was very funny!

After this we looked round the animals and by this time he had had enough of looking so we got some tea and cake! It was a lovely day and unexpected adventure! We havent done it in a while so maybe sometime soon we can get on the train somewhere! we have Ami too but she is no bother to take along!

When 3 became 4

When its your second pregnancy everything is familiar you think you forgot what its like to have a huge bump but soon everything comes back and your comparing the size compared to the last time. So when it came to the end i expected labour to come the same as it did before in fact i expected it to be alot earlier! but there i was a week overdue the same as i was with Pants still pregnant!

My husband had some men's breakfast he went of to so i thought nothing of it! I then realised when he had gone I had started to get pains across my stomach and back. Here we go i thought Ive plenty of time it took 24 hours with Pants so i watch some TV get Pants sorted to go to my sisters bit somehow things were going a bit quicker! suddenly it was becoming unmanageable. So i called my husband who was fixing some TV and told him he better hurry to take me to our local hospital! I heard from people he was with that he wasn't in any rush and wanted to finish the job he started and that they had to push him out the door! So after dropping pants of we get to the hospital and there is some kind of fete on in the maternity car park! so we park on the roads outside the hospital bonus as didn't have to pay for parking!

So i walk down the ally stopping a few times and we finally reach labour ward! memory's come back and i had also done a maternity placement in that ward so i knew how things worked and where things were! it was a shame as the midwifery led unit was not open as i would have fancied a water birth but maybe next time lol! The time was 11:30am and the midwife checked me over and said i was 3-4cm i thought great got hours to go yet! so i plod along with gas and air time flying by! my husband doing a good job of stroking my hair! I don't remember the midwife coming in alot i remember her putting a monitor on as she said the babies heart rate had dropped! then she came in again to say she was going on her break! so a new midwife came in she did a check and found out i was fully dilated and could push anytime she just needed to break my waters! i was in so much shock the time was only 1:30pm. so she breaks my waters and out pops Ami with little effort! i was so pleased and surprised! It was a completely different feeling from my first i didn't have that sense of responsibility as i did with Pants! i was in love! my husband did such a good job and he was over the moon! He was asking when we could leave thinking we could go straight away! we then got moved to the ward where my sister had brought Pants! we had got him an Arsenal kit he was excited and put it on straight away! he was unsure of this little baby who is now his sister! he held her for a little bit then was ready to go! My husband asked if we could go and they said we cold when they had done the paperwork! it was 5:30pm and we left the hospital now a family of 4 after a round trip of 6 hours life changed yet again!

MAGIC MOMENTS - PROPOSAL

I had met Matt in the summer and got to know him and yes really like him. He lived in Sidcup and I 65 miles away but regardless we carried on. I thought he was very handsome (still do) will his dark yet graying hair dark skin and hairy (strange I know). he is also very funny and always making me laugh!

Matt worked at my church two days a week doing media stuff and working on any videos they needed etc, so we used to see each other from Sunday to Tuesday  He was amazing with pants, pants loved him so much! we had been dating a little while and I had been suggesting getting married to test the waters. We had only been together 5months but some how felt so right. Then one day me and pants were moving house, So Matt had a great idea he would take me and pants to a play park in Minnis bay! I love minnis bay i grew up there as a child so have so many happy memories there. So he says lets go for a walk im like ok if we have to. So he takes me to this spot were we had been one of our first dates and we had seen 8 shooting stars (Matt said it was were he realised he wanted to spend his life with me!).

I was busy playing with pants, when I turn around I see written on the wall "Sara will you marry me, please"  I was shocked and said yes! He had told me he wrote please because that was good manners, hes such a joker. He apparently been waiting for ages  with champagne in the boot waiting for the right time. Then we got married 7months later but thats a different moment to share another time :)

Magic moments - First day at school!

Ive never been a mum who cries at each little milestone or gets overly excited, but i found when Pants started school i was teary! Aston had been in childcare since he was one and had enjoyed nursery but that first day was so special! seeing him in his uniform with his lunch box and book bag! I was more excited than him! I remember before he started they held a meeting for all the parents I was holding back the tears! They called each name out to say which class they were in I had to stay seated for a little other wise would have had a mini melt down (i wasnt the only one). I think its him growing up maybe realised hes not the small loud child that he had always been!

On the walk to school! they started later so they didnt get overwhelmed with all the children! We dropped him in he wasnt fussed! alot of parents were walking out crying!

Was lovely, wonder if i will be the same when Ami starts school!
