Life as we know it

Its been a long time since I have sat with a laptop on my lap the main reason   excuse being that my laptop  charger broke on my mac so it currently runs on 1%.  It makes it hard work when your computer keeps on turning off. Theres one thing I have realised though I have missed typing away at my laptop. Its something I have been doing for the last four years and something I love to do. I think being dyspraxic it can be hard to express but I feel like I can get my thoughts down out of my head. I am not always the best communicator when it comes to face to face (just ask my husband). Just thought I do a little post to keep everyone or the one reader who is left following my little blog.

The Adults

So our life as we know it is about to change both me and my husband have new jobs!! which is completely mental. I am just getting over the shock that childcare arrangements and all that jazz will be a bit different for a few weeks whilst we work out how to juggle life. To be honest with my husband being self employed its been easy for him to work round my shifts as a nurse. We kind of go into the realm of the unknown for the upcoming weeks. My husband has got a job as a media manager for a charity and me as a special care baby nurse. Both for us new roles. Mine has taken a long time due to 500 checks to move departments in the same hospital its a bit of a joke really. So next month its all change. Its good change I have to remind myself that.

Asti

10 year olds they are a fun kettle of fish arnt they? I know when I said the toddlers were hard work least i can pick them up and distract them but tweens are hard work. My Asti is nearly 11 and is going through a stage where the world is against him. It can be trying at times especially when you can ee the good. He's a good lad but has some behavioural problems ADHD is a potential he's currently getting tested for. Its taken along time and lots of tears to get the school to get him assessed. Its super hard work at times especially when you see your child make bad choices but you want to sort it out for them. Its not all doom and gloom Asti has been doing really well in Maths and has read 6 harry potter books. I think is a great achievement for a 10 year old especially as some of the books are long. He's a proper Harry Potter fan now though won't stop going on about it.

Ami

Ami has nearly finsished her first year at school I can't quite believe it the year has flown by. She's breezed through the first year with out trouble. Still the has a wild feisty spirt to her but we have seen a caring side to her whilst being at school. Although she comes out like a feral monster the neat plaits from the morning come out like a lion mane at the end of the day. She's getting there with her reading and she has finally started to write which can be cute. She doesnt always want to start writing which can be discouraging but I know she will get there. She's not yet 5 although dont we know it. Shes a good girl though she loves babies and playing mums and dads.

Son Son

Son Son is doing well he has a speech and language appointment coming up but his speech is getting better each day. We find Ami talks a lot for him any way and corrects him when he says something wrong recently. Him and Ami are quite the duo act at the moment always ganging up on us parents or there older brother. They play all the time together which can be cute or they can fight which is not cue at all. He's rather cute though being 3 and the baby he is very much loves cuddles and being treated like the baby. We are loving school though the days when its just us two and everyone else is at school and work. Its so easy to look after one child although I have to remember that because he is easy not to just do housework as he easily plays on his own.
\

So there we have a little update on us and life. We have just got back from our holiday and also camping. Its all going on were in the super busy season of life. Im a bit riding it out but also close to the edge. I am someone who suffers with depression it can easily work its way in and I must not be fearful of change. I myself have wanted a new job for a long time as has my husband. I bet in a few months I will look back and wander what I was even thinking.

Life is good we are so so blessed.

Teletubbies Po's Scooter and Helmet review.

Its funny when something from your childhood makes a big come back it seems to be happening a lot lately which is cool. My little ones love Teletubbies and we were thrilled to be asked to review the Po Scooter and Helmet. My little ones love to be on the move and never stop so it was perfect for them. The scooter is easy to put together and comes in three main parts, allan keys are provided in the box so after some gentle peer pressure from the kids I was off making the scooter. The Helmet also comes with a loop so you can look like Po (photo of the helmet at the end with Po attachment).

What I didnt realise is that the Teletubbies scooter came with some sounds too, in the garden I could hear this little voice and the kids laughing. There was me wondering what the noise was and it was in fact the scooter, which has two little buttons that make some Po sound effects. The bottom of the scooter has a picture of Po on the Anti-slip foot plate.

The Helmet and the scooter both has such bold and bright designs it will be hard not to be noticed when zooming around. All very iconic to the Teletubbies brand. The scooter has three wheels which are puncture proof too, the three wheels are perfect for little ones learning to ride a scooter for the first time as it does provide some stability. Son Son who is very confidant on a balance bike has yet to master a scooter this was perfect as it didn't keep on falling down and was always upright.

The Helmet is great too in helping to keep your child safe whilst on the scooter. Helps your little one think they are just like Po too. The Helmet comes with adjustable straps, quick release buckle and a ESP liner for added comfort. It is also super light so they almost forget they are wearing it. My little ones often complain to wear helmets for a long time so this was an added bonus to that. The holes in the Helmet make sure its well ventilated but poor Son Son that boy can sweat for England so was helpful in that aspect. Last not to forget the most important part the Po antenna which can be removed   but looks cool on.

My little ones have loved testing out the Po scooter and Helmet and has been a deffinite win in our house. The summer may be over but Autumn is a fantastic month to keep being active especially with a scooter at the park.

The scooter Retails at £29.99 and the Helmet £24.99 and available at the following shops

Very, Littlewoods, Tesco, TRU, Argos, Boots and Halfords

Son Son your 2 and a Half

Thought it was about time I did an update on little baby Son Son. I say baby he is very much not a baby any more. As each day passes he gets more and more grown up. Both my self and my husband are always saying how cute he is. I last did an update 6 months ago and so much has changed, he still remains full of energy but is so more independent. I thought I would separate into categories so I can skim read in a few years time, or you can if you have a similar aged child. Not in a competition way but you know its nice to see how children develop and all that. Especially if you have been following this blog since Son Son was born.  Its kind of like a report now the sub titles have made it easier to write about and maybe not as random... Ok its me its going to be random.

Sleeping

Son Son remains a good sleeper, he loves going to bed. Out if the three he is the guaranteed one who will go to bed. A few times lately he has called out for Mummy and Daddy but is nowhere near as demanding as his older sister. All he needs is his Dummy, muzzy and some milk (still in a bottle, yes I know he shouldn't have one but hey why break the good routine). He likes a little prayer and a kiss where you say "I love you" then he says " I love you more" and that goes one for a while. We don't hear a peep, well we hearing him snoring downstairs but he generally does not wake up till his sister wakes him without fail usually at 6:30am. He rarely naps in the day only in the car now, he does flag about 6pm if he doesn't.

Eating

Son Son remains a good eater usually grazing though the day. He asks for a drink and a biscuit usually every 30 minutes. He refuses water but happily drinks it at nursery so I am told. He is a great eater and often demolishes his dinner, if we eat out he helps Ami out too. He isn't a big fan of ice lollies and ice creams but always wants them. Like his parents he has a sweet tooth and loves cake, carrot cake being his favourite. He does with that like fruit too, he won't touch a smoothie especially a home made one. His favourite dinner is anything with mash and vegetables.

Playing

Son Son loves football or any ball related thing. His Granddad brought him a small football goal and some little footballs and he has been in his element. He generally plays with most things and is often forced to play the role of Dad in his big sisters games. He loves paying in the garden especially with any mud/ sand / water. he likes to mix things to make soups and pretend to eat. He generally plays what ever Ami is playing. It will be interesting to see what it will be like in September when Ami starts school and what he will be like on his own at home. He loves watching Blaze and Bing and constantly asks for the tv on if its off.

Behaviour

He is generally sweet and cute but has developed the typical 2 year old tantrum stage. Basically if you have annoyed he will blow a raspberry and say "Your a poopey". The delights of older siblings to learn things from. He is very stubborn and takes a

lot of talking round if he doesn't want to do something. He is very cuddly and loves to snuggle with his parents. He likes to be told he is doing something well and when you praise him he gives the biggest smile. He gets away with most things because he is the youngest.

Speech

Son Son has come on alot over the last few months, he generally tackles most words now and gets ever so cross if you don't understand him. He loves to talk if you can prise the dummy out of his mouth. The nursery thought he may need speech and language but I personally thought it was Ami talking for him. If you ask poor Son Son a question she answers it before he gets a chance. He is amazing us each day with new words. Also the ability to remember things and tell us stories. like the other day I came home from work and he told me " Micheal come and drop hoover at home". I heard the story from him before my husband explained it, he was like how did you know that. His best friends are Preacha and Milly at the moment if asked.

Siblings

Being the youngest isn't always fun for poor Son Son. He is often classed as too young by Ami who is only 15 months older and therefore is a super grown up. She tells him off alot but he is ever so pleased if she lets him play. Whereas its the opposite with Asti who loves Son Son and is always encouraging him. Son Son loves it when Asti plays football with him in the garden. Son loves his siblings he is always going on about them asking where they are. He calls them Lion and Mallie.

So here rounds up my little report, I can not believe my youngest child is 2 and a half seriously where is the time going. Its nice though I feel like I am drifting far away from babies and life is getting manageable (sometimes). I am not going to lie having three children is overwhelming at time but its also alot of fun too.

We love you Son Son you are one awesome boy.

Cold Winter Walks - Broadstairs

I love that the evenings are getting lighter, it means we can stay out later and enjoy more of the day. We decided to get out the house and go for a walk mainly to get our family photo but also to grab a ice cream. It was most properly the coldest day of the year or so it felt so we didn't actually stay out for too long.

We went for a walk along the prom and the kids the noticed that some people were surfing. So there we are finding 20 pence coins so they could all see the people in the water. Ami was desperate to go on the beach but it was far too cold.

We followed the walk to the best Ice cream parlour in the world. I personally have always loved Morellis in Broadstairs we used to go there as children and it still is the only place we get ice cream in Broaststairs. I got a hot chocolate which was devine and all the kids and the hubby got ice cream. It was a nice little walk and the kids enjoyed the fresh air and ice cream. I love my Sundays of with the family, it was my last one for a few weeks.

See below some more photos of the day

Winter Beach Walks

Theres one thing I can not stand on sunny days is being stuck in even worse on super Sunday. Any football widow will understand that one, football match after football match enough to pull your eyes out. So me and Ami were set to go to the park when who wants to join us little Son Son. So off we all set for a walk to the park sadly our nearest one is a good 20 minutes away. Asti refused to wear a coat or hat saying it wasn't cold at only 2 degrees. I on the other hand was freezing and secretly wanted to go home and sit under a blanket with a cup of tea.

We didn't make it to the park in the end but stopped off at a little beach on the way, I used to come to this beach occasionally as a child. My mum would stack up the old maclarren and off we set. Son Son gave up walking not far in to our walk he was too cold and a little bit tired.

I usually work most Sunday's so the idea of just doing something as a family can be rather rare. Even Asti enjoyed it after giving much protest about going out. He recently brought some Heeleys, if you are not sure what they are they are trainers with wheels on. Sadly he hasn't got the hang and keeps on falling over. Very funny at times but not the most practical for the beach.

After a while we couldn't feel our feet and Son Son fell in a rock pool it was time to walk home. He was so cold he had had enough which there wasn't much protest too except from Ami who wanted to go back home.

Just a post about a little walk, I really wanted to share the photos. I do love taking photos but my children don't agree they all hate the camera.

Here's some more photos from our chilly little walk. Sometimes it's the little things like that we look back on and love. The little walks but more importantly the time spent together (not watching football).

We've joined up to some linkys this week some new ones and some olds ones.

Photo A Day 2016 1st - 10th January

SO this year I have decided to take a photo a day, ok this isn't really a challenge for me I always have my phone to hand. Some days may be more challenging when I am working nights or long days but lets see. I tried this back in 2013 but only made it to April. So here is the first offerings of the year.

January 1st

We went into London to experience the New Year Day Parade, something I had never heard off before. Was good fun and the kids loved it, although we were standing in the wring place was good to experience it. It did involve me saying to someone What is your problem? As they rammed there bag into my back as I wandered to find Ami a toilet. Do not know what she thought pushing me with her bag would achieve in a queue. Poor Ami was getting crushed under the force of the lady. They loved going on the trains and seeing all the goings on.

January 2nd - Date Night

Yes our first Date night of the year gifted to us by our lovely Friend Frances. A very thoughtful gift and a rare chance for us to enjoy each others company. My husband has to be one of the most funniest people I know he makes me laugh when we got out all the time.

January 3rd - Sibling love

Ami was overjoyed that Son Son had got some pants she said to him "If you wear your pants son son I will give you a sweet". It was so cute they then danced around in his new pants. He soon took them off and wanted a nappy.

January 4th - Haircut times

Son Son got an haircut, he does look so cute with it cut but I did love the long hair. Wont take long to grow back and he loved having it cut, he was a very good boy.

January 5th - Playdates with Mates

With the non stop rain we headed to Ami's friend house in which they enjoyed playing together. Its funny to see Ami play with her friends its so much different then at home, at home she bosses Son son around and he will do anything she wants, but friends aren't like little brothers. They enjoyed playing dress up and playing trains.

January 6th - More playdates with Mates

This this the three off them playing snowball fight!!! Son Son helped me tidy it away. It literally went everywhere.

January 7th - Back to Work

Back to work after 12 days of annual leave. Was very tiring but nice to be back at work and managing to get a break, eat some food in peace. I look tired not used to getting up at 5:45 its a killer.

January 8th - Husband Treats

My lovely husband slipped these in my bag for me because he knows how much I love them (well more fruitella but I wasnt complaining). I have cut chocolate for the new year and it was everywhere it was so good having something sweet to eat when feeling shattered at work.

January 9th - Not much inspiration

Didn't take many photos infact this was the only taker of the day. Not the best ever but my poor husband has a tooth infection and was in a lot of pain. The poor man three hospital visits endless pain killers he now looks like someone has punched him in the face.  Poor chap.

January 10th - A cheat

This photo wasnt from today sorry but the only photo was the toddlers dive bombing a soft toy monkey ( see my instagram feed for that one). I thought I would share a photo of my eldest so it doesnt look like I have missed him out. He is a cheeky chap he has brought heelys today so I expect some broken bone picture here in the next few weeks. My husband is still in a lot of pain today, I had to take the day of work to look after the kids whilst he slept after being awake all night. Me and the kids went shopping and to subway very exciting for them all. We also lost Son Sons dummy on the way home and had to put up with an hour of him crying for his dummy and for Daddy.

So this is us for the time being, I plan to post every Sunday depending on how much I remember. I hope to remember to take other pictures not just the toddlers. Although they are rather funny and growing up so quick.

Thanks for reading my ever so interesting week and a bit.
