Autumn Adventures - Epple bay and paddling in the sea

My kids are so much like me as a child, that spirt to explore and also the ability to make anything messy. I say as a child my husband would disagree and say I am an messy adult too. The other day o thought let's walk to the beach and the children could collect some shells. Amelie wanted to take her bike and off we set.

It was a sunny day but it did have a slight chill in the air, I was cold but then I usually am. I didn't think practically and put the children in some of there better clothes. Big mistake thankfully everything came out in the wash in the end;

The children live the beach and wanted to build sandcastle a, but sadly for them the sand was to wet. They decided to throw it at each other or jump on it splattering it everywhere.

They also enjoyed jumping in the rock pools in fact that's all they ended up doing in the end. It reminds me of a story from when me and my sister where small. It was Christmas Day and me and my sister had got new coats for Christmas, my mum had asked my dad to take us for a walk to try and calm us down and we ended up going in the sea. We hear this story every Christmas strangely it gets more elaborate each year,

Bearing in mind it wasn't a warm day they were in there element running through he water son son kept on falling over in the water too, he was completely drenched. They did have a lot of fun there welly boots were full of water and must have been heavy to walk in.

Thankfully we only lives few minutes away from this beach so it wasn't to bad for the children to walk home. They were both soaked from head to foot in sand and water. So I stripped them of and chucked them straight in the bath. Killed a morning and got us out the house.

It's a great place to live when the weather is right. I say this as the chill on a winters day is horrid but when it's nice we feel very blessed to be here.

  4. It looks a fantastic way to spend a few hours! I would love to live near the sea and be able to walk on the beach almost every day. It's a gorgeous place to live and brilliant for the kids to learn about the coast. Love the basket on Amelie's bike, a great idea when they want to collect things on bike rides.
