Mothers Day gift Ideas

Mothers Day is just round the corner I am betting that the time will fly by and before you know it your at the garage buying flowers and chocolate... (or is that just me!). This year I am not going to do that and be prepared, Ive been looking for some lovely gifts for my mum she does deserve it. She works very hard and is always around to baby sit when I ask.

So here is a few ideas to tickle your fancy

Baby Bird Necklace

I am kind of hoping that my husband stumbles upon my blog and finds this as I love this little necklace and I am not a jewelry wearer. I seem to love birds at the moment sorry about that, this retails at just under £18 the perfect gift for any mother.

Handmade Blue Bird Bowl

I know my mum would absolutely love this its a mixture of vintage and modern that she would love. I could see her storing things on her dressing table. I also would love it It would look great in our bathroom as a soap dish. Its a tad pricey at £15 but the quality and finish is totally worth that price.

I Love you to the moon and back necklace

This beautiful necklace is also a locket where you can store pictures of your children/ grandchildren/ dog in there. It is just the cutest little thing, Its retails at under £22 it is a lovely gift for anyone. I know If I got this from one of my children I would be so overwhelmed

Hand made notebook

If your mum is a keen writer or loves a journal than this is for her. This hand made note book is just lovely, the paper is handmade and is all made of recycled materials. It costs £11.13 which is a similar price I would pay for a good journal

Floral Scarf

You cant go wrong with a floral scarf, or any scarf in fact. This one is perfect for spring coming where the evenings as a bit chilly but the days are warmer. This one costs less than £10 what a bargain.

So what ideas have you for your mum? Do you do gifts at all?

Siblings March

There is nothing more sweet than seeing your child sleep. This month they may not all be together but they are all asleep. My three beautiful children all so different but all so special. I love this time I love to stare at there faces so peaceful and full of dreams. I sometimes would like to press pause and that they would stop growing up so fast. Yes in case your wondering that is my 7 year old sleeping in a box?

The last month Little bear loves to see his big brother and sister and even though he gets alot of whacks and pokes in the eye from his sister he is still amazed and gives her the best smiles. Pants often needs to be reminded that he is alot older than Ami he often forgets and does a wrestling move on her. Although she likes it can't really have her repeating 619 at toddler group.

dear beautiful

Fairy Non Bio - The power of Soft

I hold you close you are mine I helped to create you. I carried you in my womb for 9 months and then got to see you come into the world. You took your first breath and gave a loud cry, my heart was thumping did I just do that, is this really real. You were placed in my arms and the love and adrenaline were pumping through my veins. I knew I will Cuddle you and hold you close all my days, even when you are an adult I will try my hardest. Those newborn moments are the best, the most special I plan to make the most of you so small, so helpless.

I recently got sent the most lovely Cushion from fairy non bio. Fairy non bio have a new campaign and its all about removing all the pressure from having a newborn baby and helping mums to really enjoy those first few precious weeks. The cushion was so lovely I cried it was more beautiful than I imagined I felt very blessed. They emailed me and asked me to write a sentence about cuddling my baby I came up with "Having a cuddle with you made me realise what true love is" It is so so true.

I write this as I try to keep my baby a baby as long as I can. The time of a newborn goes by far to fast and your sum what too tired sometimes to really enjoy it. Its only when you look back and realise how much they have changed. We long for the next stage, we see our friends with older babies doing funny things and we want that for our babies only when they do these things we miss the old.

Cuddling a baby is the best thing, my husband often says when don't you put little bear down in his mose's basket as he is asleep, but I don't. I want to savior every cuddle, kiss that downy little head. let him fall asleep on me and really enjoy it. Its so special it has taken three babies to realise this, and miss all those extra long cuddles I missed with the first two. Here is some advice for some new parents that has come from a survey of mums whose babies were over 9 months, so if your pregnant or just given birth take a look:

1.            Mummy knows best even when she thinks she doesn't
2.            Try not to be super mum
3.            You can’t spoil your baby with cuddles
4.            Sleep when the baby does
5.            Housework can wait
6.            Take a ‘baby moon’
7.            Don’t compare yourself to other mothers – every baby is different
8.            Trust your instincts
9.            Treasure every moment
10.          If you thought you were in love before you had a baby – wait till you meet your baby!

So remember cherish the time with a newborn, embrace that milky smell. Hold tight that small little baby and really enjoy it for all it is. This poem below is lovely save the picture if you must. It is lovely and so so true.

Disclaimer: We were sent the Cushion and the laundry detergent return for this post. All words are my own and all cuddles were enjoyed.

The pull of a child

I hold you tight and kiss your head, I know your mine and I am lost in this embrace. Your hands wander and search for your mum. You hear my voice and search for my face. We lock eyes and understand true love. True love that you would risk everything to save. You are so beautiful so changing everyday your doing something new.

I place you down and you start to cry. I want to pick you up and comfort you, nurse you and cuddle you. My husband tells me not to pick him up straight away. My heart is pulled and your tears. I hold my self together and pick you up. You stop crying, you know your safe in your mums arms. I get a look and a I told you so, but I dont care. I will hold you till you don't want to be held. I will cuddle you till you wont let me. Its a short time and I want it to last. Even in the throws of night when I hear you cry I rush to your aid. I hold you and rock you and wish you go back to sleep but still love the closeness.

When you grow to be a toddler Im still there behind you. Watching and my heart is happy, I see you learn to sit, to stand, to walk and I am so proud. Proud of you, proud that your mine. Every word you mumble is as if its the best word ever. Some words cause me to melt and your little voice to so cute. Little things you do I am in awe of you and wonder where you get these things from. When you fall over I am right behind, holding back my tears as I see your pain. Trying to stay strong as you pull the saddest of faces. The pull is strong I am your mum I am there to protect and I will always try my hardest.

Then you grow into a child, you dont want so many cuddles and kisses, and suddenly everything else is more fun than boring mum. All your cute things have been replaced by childish ways and remembering you younger is hard. I see all your achievements, I see you learn something new and be excited about it. I am proud when you show me how to do something I dont know. I look at you and wonder what you will be like when your older, I hope and pray over you. I know you will be great. You never cry I know your seriously hurt and that sound pulls me to you. I am there that protective mum, that Mum that will always fight for you. Always be there for you. My favorite times are just me and you, we have a good laugh and I miss all those years we had just the two of us.

So with this I am blessed with three awesome children all in different stages, All learning differently, all so so special. Being a mum is great!

World Book day 2014

In this house me and the kids love books. My hubby loves reading via phone or laptop mainly I dont think I have seen him finish a book, but whereas me I love nothing more than getting stuck in a fictional book (usually a romantic type). Hence why I spent my youth wanting to work in a office in London so I could be like the books I read. One day I will write a book a soppy romantic one I love them.

Although its great that we celebrate books it can also bring a little dread into a parent who has a school/ nursery age child. What will my child wear and how am I going to make it! My son this year wanted to go as Garfield after explaining he watches that on telly and not a book he then wanted to go as a footballer as he reads football skill books. Then finally he went as The Tiger who came to tea. Complete with tiger food (which I found hidden behind the sofa).

Ami also loves books, and will spend hours pulling books of the shelf looking through them and taking it all in. The kids have tons of books Im forever buying them from shops and charity shops. We also get loads from the library but I often end up to forget to take them back (we owe alot of money!!!) I hope my kids get my love of reading when they get older, that books wont be forgotten, that feel of fresh pages will be something of the past

Our fave book at the moment is The adventures of the Owl and the pussy cat take a look at our review here. My all time favorite children books are Owl babies and The tiger who came to tea (pants wasn'tpeer pressured into these I swear!) we need to read more its easy to stick on the TV with the kids really need to make more of an effort!

Whats your favorite book at the moment?
