Family Photo Outakes

We love to get a family photo each month, we may leave it to the last min and the photo always comes out ok. What I do not show is the millions of photos that get left on the cutting room floor? They end up clogging up my laptop with the rest of the photos that get unseen. So here is a glimpse into the hard work that goes into the photos we take each month. 

1) The Lets get in the photo shot!

Daddy tries to round the children up and calm a baby. Little does he know that Ami has found a interesting pebble. The ball is in the shot we have not realised I am round the back checking were in frame and focus.

2) Second check on the Shot.

Daddy is not to sure on the framing so goes to check. Pants has lost focus and Ami is playing with that pebble still. Little Son Son is so cold he is furious. I am now feeling frustrated and wishing we would all sit down before my toes fall off.

3) One last look.

That blooming ball who brought it! Everyone is sitting together that is good. Little Son Son is very cross now and Daddy is hoping the view of the sea will cheer him up. Asti is bored and waiting for it to be over. Behind the camera I am smiling trying to look happy! 

4) Get ready folks

Lets take the dummy out for a nice natural shot, oh wait he is screaming loudly put it back in. Ami is checking my pockets for sweets and Asti is well and truely lost.


So here we are behind the scenes of our little photos, its hard work and we take alot of photos to get a few good ones but its so worth it.

Outtakes from our family photo

I for one do love a good outtake photo and they are often left untouched. When we take our me and mine photo every month usually we put the camera on the stand and it takes every 10 seconds till one of us stops it. Usually alot of me giving me husband a look or the kids not looking, but this month I loved the out takes. I love how they show its not that easy and we are not perfect. 

I loved this photo. the way Ami is looking at her dad just pure love and adoration. Its kind of like she was posing but really wasnt, I think she was being a bit cheeky but it was captured perfectly.

No before you ask I did not drop the baby. I was bouncing hm up and down (which he loves). My husband is really happy as he is going to turn of the camera I reckon. 

I love how in thos photo Ami and Pants both have their hands in there mouths, Ami looks extra cute. Little bear was just doing that baby look, flying through the air and not a care in the world. 

A cross face from me or worried I am not so sure. My husband looks like he has taken a hit to the face but at least Pants was ready for the photo/


See it is hard to get a photo of 5 people but sometimes the outtakes are funny and sometimes cute. They may not be the perfect finish but I love them all the same.

Mission impossible - Trying to take photos of my kids

I love photos and have always had a love of cameras. It all started when I was a child we were given a video camera as a child and me and my sister would take tons of videos. Some rather embarrassing and sadly I fear my sister got rid of all the evidence. One video we used tubular bells as backing music we were too cool!

It was only inevitable I would marry someone whose job would involve cameras and videos. I love the days were he has to edit things as I can use the proper camera rather than my phone. Don’t get me wrong photos from phones are great quality but nothing compared to a DSLR.

Oh dear cut of the chin!

When my first son was small I used to get disposable cameras all you had to do was point and shot but now I have a camera that’s all technical. I secretly don’t know what the buttons do my husband try’s to tell me but I can take it in. I just take photos and change settings until they look good to me.

Once that’s all sorted I then have to find one of my children to take photos of. The elder two have caught on and see the camera and run away, but little bear doesn’t mind. He is happy to smile at mummy so all mummy has to do is make sure he is in focus and take a photo in time.

Ami she is a different matter I have a time frame of 5 seconds to take a photo. And a fraction a second she will smile then rest is cross that she is still and mum has the camera out. She even broke my photo shoot! The monkey! Pants is the same he will smile once then look elsewhere the whole time!

But with all the trouble it takes I get a few good ones that I can stick on the wall and treasure forever. That special photo that captures the moment and you know it’s a keeper. I will keep on trying and hopefully get a bit better too!

Sunday Snapshot my kids (Again!)

Still trying the new lens for the Camera 35mm mean anything to you (it didnt me all i heard was shallow depth) but with that Im one of those mums that takes 100s of photos, its even got to the stage that Pants hates his photo taken! so to get him to smile for a photo i always great! Ami has been teething all week but can see four teeth ready to pop through the gums so shes been a bit of a grump all week! So here some of the weeks photos ranging from red nose day and chill out after school!

Ami

Daddys Girl!

This week we have a new lens for the DSLR (not that i really know how to use the camera) ! I used it to get a photo of Ami! Then Ami and her daddy! shes very difficult to get a photo due to the different faces she is always pulling! I also need to learn what these number things mean on the camera my husband mentioned something about ISO?  i love to take photos always have i also love to look at photos too!
