Photography at home - need some help

There is one thing I love and that is taking photographs and there is nothing more I love than taking pictures of my kids. One day I may learn to use the camera to its best advantage but I love experimenting and generally taking photos. My husband uses the Camera for work so when he does not need it I he leaves it at home and I use it. These photos were taken with a Sigma prime 30mm F1.4 lens for those who it makes sense. I love this lens it sure does make the photos more defined but I can sometimes find it hard to get a clear shot. Sometimes what I think is a great shot is blurry when bigger.

These photos do not do the lens justice I just wanted to share one of the many photos that I had taken. I am slowly learning how to take a photo, I have learned to love natural light and love a blurry back ground (technical term). I am so privileged to have a decent camera it really does make a difference to our photos and videos.

The only issue I have is that the kids hate the camera, as soon as it comes out they hide. It takes ages to get them to smile or even look in the camera direction.

So if you have any help at all please share.

What lenses and tips do you use for your photographs?

Here is my photos that I took:

Midweek Chill

Our weeks have become so busy, what with me working and the kids at nursery at school I really look forward to my days off. Especially my Wednesdays. I am starting to be less knackered from working and see it as a day with me and my babies. My eldest is at after school club so there is no rush to do anything.

I have started to enjoy these days even more mainly because I have started to not feel so guilty about not doing much. Also not beating myself up if we are not dressed by midday or Peppa pig has been on too much. There is a million and one things left but we still sit on the floor and have a little play. Also just doing home stuff I enjoy it, makes me want the best of both worlds. Torn between the freedom of work and the enjoyment of being at home. I suppose I do have best of both and I am very blessed.

To an outsider these days may seem a little dull, or maybe not that stimulating for the kids but me and the babies just enjoy being together. I hate starting work before they get up and coming home when they are fast asleep its great to have some us time. No rushing anywhere just us and lots of cuddles.

They will only stay small for a short period and before I know they will be going to school and I will have that time on my own, but until then we shall do our nothing days and our not get dressed till lunchtime days. Life is a hurry sometimes its good to take a step back and try to enjoy the time.

Cushions on a budget = The Home Collective - Autumn 2014 -

One thing I love is interior design, from cushion covers to kitchen tops I love it all. So I am starting an interior series on the blog to add some of my favorites I have seen online and in stores.

This week I am starting with some Cushions, I personally love cushions and being super savvy you can transform a room with a few little touches. Here are some cushions I have found and love.

I really like this cushion from some of the great range at H&M, I love H&M home ware always good value and really last well, This cushion comes in four different colours and is only £3.99 such a bargain.

Another love of mine is Ikea not only are they really not expensive but they are modern and right on trend. I love these colours and it retails at £10 (which is one of the more expensive items). So here is your excuse to get those meatballs and random bits for your house.

Another fabulous cushion from H&M  bang on trend with animal print this season. This one is mad of linen and retails at £12.99.

Looking for that autumnal piece to perk up those darker evenings, then look no further than one of Ikea's beautiful cushions and the best thing they are only £4 what a bargain!

This rather jazz cushion is my most expensive in the feature this week coming in at £25 and it shows one of the wonderful John Lewis cushions. It is great for young people going of to university, teenage bedroom or even a study.

Another one of H&M's £3.99 cushion collection, comes in a variety of colours and great quality (I know that as I have a few on my sofa!)

For some reason I do love this cushion, and its from good old Wilkos for just £8. I love the look and the texture and such a bargain too.

So here is this weeks cushion collection watch out for next weeks Autumn Lamp Collection.
