The Snowman and the Snowdog musical Display Review.

It is true I am a massive sucker for The Snowman, I do not know what it is about it but it just makes me feel so warm and happy. I think its because as a child it was on every Christmas eve and it was a sign for me and my sisters that it was really Christmas. The magical time we had been waiting for was coming. So as an adult I still have that love for it all. We were offered to review something from The Christmas World and I saw this Snowman I could not resist.

It came and the kids loved it straight away, I found some batteries and it was on for a good hour. The babies loved the lights and the little figure and we were spinning whilst listening to the twinkle of familiar Christmas Carols.

The figure Is hand painted and contains different colour LED lights .The snowman and the Snow dog Rotate in the middle and you can have the option to turn the music of and just have the lights. It measures 28cm so is just perfect size for the fire place or a window seal. Its also battery powered meaning you do not need to find yet another plug for lights! It really is beautiful and even more so if you love The Snowman like me (and the kids who are forced to like it).

This snowman figure retails at £24.99 from the Christmas world and came really quickly. I would also whilst you are there look at Christmas world website there is tons of Christmas items from trees to outside inflatables. If you have been into the range this website will knock the range out of the water with the amount of stuff that they have, So what are you waiting for there is always more decorations you can add!

Penwizard - Ben and Holly's Personalised Birthday book Review

If your child is anything like mine they actually need very little. My daughter is happy playing with her brothers toys that can keep her entertained for hours. So with her 2nd birthday coming up we have been stuck on what to get her. She does not need much although she does want ice cream she told me. When I was offered the chance to review the Ben and Holly book from Penwizard I thought what a great idea and a gift that can be kept and remembered for years to come.

The website was easy to use and the little character in the book can be personalised to look by your child, you can choose the colour hair and skin. Even your child's date of birth is included in the story. Which is a nice touch for your child when you read the book. You can also add a personalised message in the front cover. We went for Happy 2nd Birthday as the book does not have an option to put the age of the child. The book has 24 full colour glossy pages and your child's name throughout the book.

I loved the little touches in the book, really makes it more special to see and more personal. I can see the book being pulled out every birthday (and everyday between). The story is all about how Ben and Holly make a card for Ami, it is very sweet and one she will love. Thankfully my daughter loves books so this was an ideal present for her, and any child who loves Ben and Holly's Little Kingdom. The only disappointment we had that it didn't include her age, but then it can be re wrapped for the next year too. She got the book a little early and has enjoyed pointing herself out and smiling when ever her name is read out.

You can purchase the book from the Penwizard website where it retails at a reasonable £14.99 for the softback option, which I think is very reasonable for a personalised gift. The best thing is that it came in no time at all, there was me thinking that it being personalised would take ages.

How to Make a Superhero Cape

The other day it was my friends little boys birthday and I was stuck on what to get him. I know that he loves dressing up and thought he would love a little superhero cape. It turned out to be really easy to make and didn't take too long at all.

What you will need to make the cape:
  • two pieces of fabric ( i used felt) measuring 50cm by 80cm
  • sewing machine or a needle and thread
  • Pins or tape to keep fabric together whilst sewing
  • scissors
  • pritt stick

I firstly drew with a crayon the outline of the cape then cut out the shape, It came up a bit shorter than I liked but as this was for a toddler I left it as it is. Then cut out the other pieces of fabric using the first as a template.

Then I sewed the two pieces of fabric together I ended up sewing by hand in the end but I think it would be stronger by sewing machine.

I then cut out the design on the back with the left over fabric and glued them on with prit stick. You could sew them on to make it more durable.

This is the finished product I was impressed at how easy it was to make and will make again for my own children. I ended up cutting the loop at the top to make it so it could be tied together. Lovely little inexpensive gift for a toddler, you could even make it our of left over fabrics around the home.

What to get a 16 month for Christmas? Her letter to father Christmas

There are plenty of flashy and smart presents you could buy for a 16 month old girl. Many that I am sure will provide her with hours of fun and entertainment. A cute teddy or a flashy toy but here is Ami's list of what she really wants.

Dear father Christmas

Ive been good i think i am not sure does hitting your brothers count pants wouldn't let me play his toys so I biffed him one. Here is what i want please..

Stacks of books and dvds
I spend hours everyday pulling books of a shelf, then pull all the neatly stacked dvds on top of that, if i am lucky i may get hold of one of those shiny things inside.

A light up hand thing
I see mum and dad with these hand things, i would like one too so I can watch peppa pig and press the circle button. Not a plastic one that does nothing i have seen they are no good I wouldn't play with it at all!

Pens
I love these stick things, they would do me well I like to draw over my body at any available opportunity. Especially when I can see were about to go out!

One of those things with buttons
I Like to watch peppa and if i had one of those buttons things i could do it myself. I like to point with the button machine already towards the light box with peppa in mind!!

So please father Christmas I promise I will be good, I wont pull anymore tags of the already wrapped presents and will not try and open any presents that don't have my name on!

love Ami
