Days at the seaside

Now my son is older he would much rather go to the park to play football rather than go to the beach. Much to my disappointment but there are a rare few times when I have managed to get him to the beach and avoid the boring old park (and believe me it is boring when you spend 5+ hours there a week!!). We live very close to the beach and the although with alot of moaning he does enjoy it.

My toddler Ami also enjoys it, although the sea was a little cold she enjoyed building sand castles and then breaking them. Its funny to see how different she is to her brother at a similar age, I can see her decorating the castles with shells where her brother had to be restrained from other peoples sand masterpieces. Pants enjoyed swimming the tide was right out so he had to go way too far out to get to his waist, and still push the boundaries and go deeper. He had swimming lessons but I wouldn't call him a strong swimmer. So I had to stand on the edge of the water shouting him to come closer good fun, gave me a sore throat.

On return from the sea he found a abandoned starfish in which he insisted of torturing saving. He held it to get a bucket ( the sea was alot closer) then keep it in the bucket to show his friend. The tide was so far out he didn't want to return it (he did eventually after a stern word from me). Little Bear also enjoyed a bit of the beach being only 6 months the sand is too much temptation. He was so cross he couldn't eat the sand he fell asleep covered in sand and very cross. I took that time to try and play bat and ball with a 22 month old, she wasn't to bad she has really got hand eye coordination.

It was a lovely late afternoon at the beach, one I hope to repeat alot this summer. We walked home bare foot taking in as much as we can. Pants playing on the bank trying to stay out longer, Ami trying her hardest to get out the pushchair and little bear crying because he was covered in sand/ hungry/ teething or generally whatever these babies cry about. Then we get home sand is everywhere but the kids are all tired and happy, good end to the day if you ask me.

Free activities in the Winter - Winter walks with my little girl

One thing I love is going to the beach, I feel at home there and nothing beats getting some fresh salty air. It was a sunny afternoon so I thought why not, we live very close to the beach So I placed Little bear in his sling and armed with my Camera Me and Ami went for a walk on the beach. She was a little confused as to why she couldn't go in the sea, It was lovely. We had just caught the last bit of Sunshine I forgot how dark it gets quickly. Ami loved the dogs and finding shells I enjoyed walking along the beach with my little girl just me and her (and Little bear but he was asleep!).

Here is some photos I took

I just love summer and beach days

Floating Boats...
These kinds of days make my heart happy! I love to be on the beach, I love the sand and sea (and sometimes even the smell of seaweed!) Im so fourtunate to have this beach at the end of the road, I love it im there after school when its hot and anytime I can! sadly at the moment we dont have much of a garden and its pebbled so not really great for staying outside, also weeds are bigger than me at the moment! As a child we were taken down the beach all the time, let loose to explore and crab and all these are very fond memories!

When we first got married my husband was not to fond of sand but today he didnt even moan about it even paddling with Ami! Pants was off to play a football match with anyone who is playing! Ami even ate less sand than normal deciding that chalk was better tasting today!
Ami enjoyed crawling over the sand and falling into holes! Was such a lovely day I love the days when the four of us are together, makes me realise how blessed i am! Also the great thing is the beach is free no expensive entrance fees!

Sinking Ships!

My husband and Son got sun burnt shoulders (secret laugh at the husbands sake he can be such a girl about things)! Not so much at my son although lets hope the teachers dont see during PE! Us girls were fine we sun screened up! Nothing worse than seeing a baby with Sun burn!

Sunshine and the Beach

I cant go on about how much i love the beach! Its one of the only places i feel completly at home, the sound of the waves the sand between my toes, I just love it! We had spent a day with some friends and after they went home we went to check out the new prom stairs at margate beach! Pants had stripped right down as he wanted to paddle but paddle turned into a swim and he was completly soaked! Ami was happy just watching at first but then she wanted to crawl up the steps!
I tried to get a lovely photo but it was so stressful trying to stop Ami falling down the steps! Also when ever she sees the camera she goes in the other direction! It was so lovely and warm i stripped Ami down to just shorts!! yes just shorts for the first time this year! I then made the mistake of taking Ami to have a paddle! she loves water so that was it we were stuck paddling in the cold water! It was time to go with a soaking wet Pants and a cross Ami!

Was lovely to be out in the sunshine, the best thing it was free and fun! my favorite type of fun!! Half terms can be a killer for spending money!

Flash back friday - Broadstairs beach

This day im talking about is set in the Summer a hot day in August 2009 we had gone on the train with my mum, sisters and nephews for Folk week (an annual festiville of folk music and dancing). After looking round the tents in the heat we decided to cool the boys of by letting them play on the beach! they wanted to go swimming which i dont blame them was rather inviting!

It was a great day and they have grown up so much from these photos! Pants was 2 in these photos how time flies!
